My role, as a professional wedding photographer, is not only to capture events as they unfold, but also to try and tell a couple’s story through my images. Many real-life love stories contain heart-breaking times. On this special day at Oaks Farm Weddings, set in beautiful Surrey countryside, Emily and Anthony’s story revealed one of those moments.
Christmas Day engagement
This newly-weds were wedding photographer’s dream! You couldn’t wish to spend a day at Oaks Farm Weddings with a more lovely, engaging couple. They were also kind enough to share their story with us all.
Emily and Anthony’s first date was in 2014 at The Anglers pub in Teddington. They were engaged on Christmas Day, 2016. A year later they moved in together and then along came beautiful Sophie. From that moment, their life changed forever!
Enchanting Oaks Farm Weddings
The couple chose Oaks Farm Weddings for their marriage ceremony and wedding breakfast. Just 10 miles from London and a stone’s throw from Croydon and Bromley, this idyllic wedding venue has 2 acres of beautiful gardens, set against a backdrop of rolling hills.
Selsdon Estate
The evening before, the wedding party stayed at the De Vere Selsdon Estate close by. A former mansion, set in 200 acres of grounds, it has now been transformed into a luxurious country house hotel. A perfect location and just a short drive to their venue at Oaks Farm Weddings.
Father-of-the-bride remembered
Little Sophie was to play her part, as flower girl, on this special day. She proudly wore her own monogrammed ‘Mini Maid’ bridal preparation robe.
Like any bride, Emily wanted her father to be at Oaks Farm Weddings to walk her down the aisle. It wasn’t to be. Tragically, he passed away shortly before, and he never saw his daughter’s wedding day. But he was not forgotten by Emily, who paid this moving tribute to him…
