Philippa and Tom’s Horsley Lodge Derby wedding was hosted in spectacular surroundings. Standing in the foothills of the Peak District on a picturesque 180-acre golf course, and surrounded by rolling fields and wildflower meadows, this exquisite venue is now the ideal one-stop shop for wedding celebrations.
Historic Horsley Lodge
Horsley Lodge is full of character and charm. Built in 1863 by the Earl of Sitwell as a wedding present for his son, this boutique hotel has earned a reputation as one of Derbyshire’s finest countryside wedding venues. Since 1990, the former Manor House has been gradually restored to retain all of its original charm – from the sweeping driveway to the exposed limestone walls and original tiled floors.
The Ceremony
Horsley Lodge Derby Wedding
Horsley Lodge has two licensed rooms for civil weddings and partnerships. For smaller weddings, the Old Restaurant room provides an intimate, romantic space. To accommodate Philippa and Tom’s wedding, the Amber Suite was chosen, as the room can seat up to 120 guests for the ceremony. Before it was time for Tom to exchange wedding vows, the groom’s party made full use of the golf club’s excellent Driving Range facility.

Fourteen en-suite bedrooms are available for guests. These are located within the Lodge House and 3-story limestone cottages within the grounds. Individually designed and attractively appointed, each room combines original features and contemporary décor.
